2020 Mid-Year Update

I’ve done a mid-year update twice on the site. The first one was in 2016 and the second was in 2019. As crazy as 2020 has been, I figured that it’s time to do another one.

2020

None of this shit was on my Vision Board. It doesn’t even seem like my Vision Board party was this year. January seems like a decade ago. 2020 has been the weirdest year of my life. Between COVID-19 and racial tensions, I’m damn near at a loss for words. It has been a lot. Everyone has had to make some adjustments. I feel for anyone that has had to watch their kids for the past few months. I’m happy as hell that I don’t have any right now.

Quarantine

I went from hating being in the house so much to actually enjoying it. I struggled in March. I found my groove in April & May. I fell off again in June for a bit, but July has been and will continue to be good. As the city continues to open up some, I’ve been out a little bit, but I’m not going to push it. I’m patiently waiting for things to open up all the way, but to be honest, something tells me that a second quarantine could be on the way.

Job Situation

As of this writing, I’m still a full-time entrepreneur. I’ve been enjoying this “test run”, but I’ve also been applying for jobs. I’ve been getting by with unemployment and my business income. To be honest, I really like not working for a company or having a job that I hate or dislike. Working jobs that you don’t like can eventually be detrimental to your health. I’ve been using the past few months to work on my business and learn more. Some things have been working very well, while others haven’t.

I’ve also been very particular about the kind of jobs that I’ve been applying to. I don’t ever want to work for a call center aka for-profit university again. In a perfect world, I would have been able to figure out how to make $5000+ per month with my businesses. That way, I wouldn’t even have to go back to 9-5. Unfortunately, I’m not there yet. It is what it is though. I’m slowly cracking the code, but until I’m there all the way, back to work I go. I have a feeling it won’t be for too long though.

My Money Chronicles

The site is getting more views than it was last year. That should continue to improve. I’m a little more than halfway complete with my latest SEO audit. I’ve deleted even more old posts that sucked. I’ve also been adding more content and updating some of my old posts that have potential. So far, it’s working. The numbers are going up for some of those posts.

My Facebook group, MMC Inner Circle is growing. Make sure you join it to engage in the conversation. I also started a YouTube channel a few weeks ago. I only have a couple of videos live right now, but there are more on the way.

Debt Situation

I started January with $63,824.55 worth of debt, As of this writing, I’m at $58,555.11. It’s gone down over $5200 in that timeframe. That’s pretty good. I’m excited to see where I’ll be at the end of December. I currently have three debts left. They are my car note, my Nelnet student loans, and my Earnest student loans. The car note will be paid off before the end of the year. I can’t wait to throw extra money on these student loans. They’ve been with me for far too long.

Products

I have a few products that I’ve created over the years. If you want to help me get debt free even quicker, support your boy.

How to Make Money With eBay in Your Spare Time

This is a course that I created for people just starting out with eBay. It has six modules that should have you making money in no time.

Tees

One of my other side hustles is selling Tees on Teespring and Amazon. Check out some of my designs at my Teespring shop by clicking the images above.

30+ Ways to Make Extra Money

I released an ebook earlier this year. It features different ways to make extra money. It’s on Amazon & Gumroad. I also have a couple of printables as well.

Minus 3-4 weeks, 2020 hasn’t been too bad. I can’t lie, I miss the hell out of sports. It looks like I’m going to have to postpone my Major League Baseball stadium trip this year. This 2020 “recharge” if you can call it that has been pretty nice. I know that I’m going to have an even better 2nd half of 2020.

What about you?

  1. Can you do a post or YouTube video on how to sell printables on Etsy, Amazon, and/or Ebay?

    1. I’ll probably do a post about it, but I want to have consistent success first.
