Here’s my first side income update of the year. The first quarter of 2020 was pretty good even with the pandemic going on. I was able to make $3119. That’s $356 more than I did during the first quarter of 2019. It’s also $1000 more than I made in the 2nd quarter of 2019. I’m happy that the first quarter of the year started out like this for me. 2020 has been a wild year so far, so I’m glad to see some good happen. Let’s get to the details.
First Quarter of 2020
EBay – $1357.78
My eBay sales started off slowly in January and early February. It happens due to people trying to get their funds right after the Christmas holidays. I also want to stress that this is number after fees are taken out. I have a feeling that this number will be much higher at the end of the second quarter.

Miscellaneous – $555.88
Next up is the miscellaneous section. This includes money that I’ve made from my products, events, and other things. I’ll go out on a limb and say that a couple of items in this section will be listed separately in the second-quarter report.
Other Platforms – $475.33
Items that I’ve sold on other platforms have made it to spot number three this quarter. In my 2019 first-quarter report, it was at the bottom. How did it get so high this quarter? It’s all due to crossposting. EBay is not the only site where I flip items. I also sell on Mercari, Poshmark, Craigslist, and more. Below are a couple of blog posts where I discuss some of the other platforms.

Affiliates – $291.71
This was a happy sight for me. My affiliate income was horrible last year. My focus was in other places and it showed big time. I only made $133.23 for all of 2019. I’ve more than doubles that amount already in 2020. I expect that number to go up, even more, this year. I’m auditing a lot of content on my blog and working on a lot of new posts that will provide value.
Sponsored Content – $286.10
Sponsored content could always be a lot higher, but I don’t need a site full of gambling or loan links. As I stated a while ago, I only accept sponsored content from companies that are legit or ones that I can vouch for.
Ads – $152.56
My ad revenue is something that I really want to grow. Surprisingly, I made $11 more than I did in the first quarter of 2019. I’m currently working on SEO. I’m not half-assing it like I did in the past. I’m actually researching keywords and following a plan. That should bring more traffic to the site which will in turn bring in more ad money.
Bringing in an extra $3K was a good start to the year. It will only go up from here. Since I’m a full-time entrepreneur at the moment, I’m using this time to buckle down and do the shit that I should have done a while ago. I can’t wait to see the results.

You can purchase your eBay supplies such as boxes, scissors, and tape from Amazon. Start shopping today and click here.
GoDaddy is one of the best places to locate and purchase a domain name. They are advertised as the world’s largest domain name website. I purchased a domain for another website that I had a couple of years ago for under $5. That’s a heck of a price. Head over here to see what domain deals are eligible.
None of this would have happened if I never started blogging. The Butler Journal has been hosted with Bluehost since 2013. If you are looking to take your blog to the next level, you should consider them. You can get your hosting for as little as $3.95 per month (this low price is only available through my unique link).
