How I Made An Extra $3120 In the Second Quarter of 2018

This post may contain affiliate links. Feel free to view my disclosure here.

The second quarter of 2018 has come and gone. I must say that that I pretty well. I made $3109.92 in side hustle income during the quarter. That’s $204 more than I made in the first quarter of 2018.

Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017, that’s 100 bucks less but I’m fine with that. On that income report, I made over $2300 doing freelancing writing. I don’t even do that side hustle anymore.

Here’s the breakdown:

Sponsored Posts & Links – $1265.56

This is the first time that sponsored posts have been my highest income stream. I could get used to this. I made over 5 times as much as I did this quarter than I did in the 2nd quarter of 2017. That’s awesome. One thing I did was to raise my rates. People accepted the rate change and now we’re here. I’m excited to see how this stream does in the future.

eBay – $992.69

Last quarter eBay was my highest side hustle income stream. This quarter, it’s second. This is the most that I’ve ever made in one quarter with eBay. I was $8 away from $1000. I will be there and some next quarter. Opening up an eBay store was the best thing that I could have done. It allowed me to list more items. As of this writing, I have 15o things in my store. I want to get between 180 – 200. That way I’ll be able to generate an extra $500 – $700 (or more) each month.

Other Selling Platforms – $515.50

Third on the list is other selling platforms. This includes items that I sold on LetGo, Mercari, and Instagram. EBay is my favorite site to sell items online, but it’s key to diversify. If you don’t do that, you will miss out on some money. There are buyers on all types of platforms.

Ads – $188.75

My add income took a tumble this month. I blame it due to my traffic going down a little bit. It’s part of the business. When the weather is nice out, fewer people are inside on the computers. This stream should increase in the third and fourth quarters, though.

Affiliates – $87.25

My affiliate income is all over the place. Last quarter was great. This one, not so much, but I’m still happy to be making some money. I’m going to review Michelle’s affiliate marketing course again. She makes over $50,000 per month with affiliate marketing. I just want to get to $1000 lol.

Other – $60.70

This includes t-shirt and ebook sales. I’ve slacked on my t-shirt designs right now. It’ll be that way for a couple of months. I’m more focused on my eBay store and I recently started a new project. I’ll discuss that in a couple of weeks.
