March 2021 Debt & life UpdateAm I the only one that seems like March came and went? This month was here for only 2 weeks or at least that’s what it seems like to me. A couple of interesting anniversaries happened this month.

The first one was that mid-March marked a year since the pandemic shut the world down. I’m not sure about you, but that seems like a long time ago. Here in Atlanta, many people are acting like the pandemic is over (it’s not). Parts of the city has been open for months, to be honest. I’m still wearing my mask and avoiding certain places. I hope that y’all are staying safe as well. Unfortunately, the pandemic is not over yet. Let’s get to the next anniversary.

March 10th made it a year since I was fired from Devry. It was and still is one of the best things to happen to me.  That company and job was so bad. I wouldn’t suggest that anyone work for that company. If you’ve been following my journey for a while you know that I was able to focus and find clarity during the time when I wasn’t working. I’m in a much better place than I was in 2020.

As I stated in my previous update, I finished my blog audit. This month I want to share some numbers below.

The audit was done to help my site get better SEO. As you can from the image, the organic traffic damn near doubled. From Aug 1st, 2019 – March 1st, 2020, my organic traffic was only at 31%. From Aug 1st, 2020 – March 1st, 2021 was 55%. My social media traffic did fall, but that’s fine. My focus has been getting consistent traffic from the search engines. I’m currently working on more content and other ways to increase these views.

Resell Business

After a semi slow month in February, March was booming again. As of this writing, I’ve sold 48% more items than I did in February. I’m loving those numbers. I plan on keeping this increase up.

I also did something pretty cool a few days ago. One of my friends let me know that he wanted to get out of the eBay game. He offered me a deal that I couldn’t resist and now I am the owner of over 170 new items. I haven’t even had a chance to look at everything yet. I’m going one box at a time. It’s probably going to take me a week or two to list everything. Check out these two videos showing the items.

Part 1 | Part 2

Every month I share with you 5 of my recent sales. Check out the ones from March.

I paid $12.95 for these Air Jordan 45 shoes. They sold on eBay for $56.99.

I paid $2.20 for this Pedigree Monopoly game. It sold for $28 on Mercari.

I paid $1.84 for this Atlanta Purolator 500 shirt. It sold on eBay for $36.99.

I purchased $7 for this Amani Coper jersey. It sold for $30 on Poshmark.

I paid $2 for this Vintage Household Discoveries book. It sold for $70.

March 2021 Debt & Life Update

My current debt is $49,678.67. I’m finally under $50K!!! It feels good to say and type this. Last month, the number was $50,636.54. That was a drop of $957.87.

Earnest ⬇️ from $20,294.54 to $19,636.67

Nelnet ⬇️ from $30,342 to $30,042

I refinanced my private student loan with Earnest a few years ago. Refinancing my loans helped me get a lower payment. It also lowered the interest rate. Refinancing your student loans may help you as well.  If you’re approved for refinancing, you will also get a $200 bonus. Visit their site here today.

These numbers are trending the right way. I have less than 20 grand to pay on my Earnest loan. Next month, my Nelnet loan will be under $30K. It feels great to see these numbers moving.
