October 2019 Debt & Life Update

October is always a busy month for me. It’s my birth month, it’s HBCU homecoming season and FinCon is sometimes held during October. Because I was super busy the last week, we have an ultra-rare Wednesday post. I honestly didn’t have the time to work on the October 2019 Debt & Life update until yesterday. As stated earlier, I’ve been very busy the past few days. Now that my birthday and homecoming is over, I will be able to finish focusing on the 4th quarter.

Besides my birthday and homecoming, I also did something else pretty cool this month. I had the opportunity to speak at the Plutus Voices event in Atlanta. We talked about Money & Transparency. The event was great. I shared some of the ups and downs that I’ve gone through in the last few years. The crowd seemed to really enjoy it. I thought I was going to mess up or be nervous, but I wasn’t. Next year, I want to do some more speaking events.

The side business and hustles have been going pretty well. My eBay income did go down a little from last month, but my Mercari income has gone up, go figure.

If you sell items online, make sure you check out my Facebook group, My Money Chronicles Inner Circle. We talk about selling on eBay and other platforms. We also discuss other side hustles too.

Here’s the section of the post where I share five of my sales from the month.

I paid $10 for this Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker. It sold on LetGo for $20.

I paid $3.12 for this Clark Atlanta University shirt. I sold it on Mercari for $18.

These Vintage Always Maxi Pads were sourced for $2.15. They sold for $33

I paid $5.07 for this Ben Wallace Jersey. I sold it on eBay for $35.99

This FSU shirt was purchased for $4. It sold on Mercari for $14.

Now it’s update time. My debt went from $66.464.97 to $65,589.47. My debt went down $875.50. That’s my second biggest decrease this year. I’m going to do even better next month. Below is the breakdown of the numbers.

Discover Card ⬇️ from $3251 to $2731.80

Car Note ⬇️ from $6621.17 to $6484.04

Earnest ⬇️ from $21,801.88 to $21,733.73

Nelnet ⬇️ from $34,790.92 to $34,639.88

This has been another good month, but I know that I can do much better. With the holidays approaching, I know that eBay and my other selling platforms are going to take off. Also, I know that I’ll sell some more shirts as well.
