According to the Washington Post, there are over 75 million millennials out there. They’ve overtaken the baby boomer generation. As a millennial myself, I know that the grind is real. Many of us have thousands of dollars’ worth of debt. It could be from credit cards, or it could be from student loans. Other millennials are underpaid. To enjoy life, many millennials doing side hustles to make money. Some do one side hustle, while others do multiple.

The side hustle is usually a way to generate extra income besides your current daytime job that you maintain to cover all your required monthly obligations. Perhaps it will seem like a tough challenge to work a day job and get a side hustle. That is why it’s important that you find the one that perfectly fits in with your current lifestyle. There are hundreds of side hustles out there that you can do. Today, I’m going over twelve side hustles to make money.

Sell on eBay

The first thing on the list of side hustles to make money is to sell on eBay. eBay has been around since the late 1990s. The platform is straightforward. I’ve been selling on and off with them since 2008. I started to get more serious with eBay in 2014 once I decided to start paying down my debt. In my opinion, this is one of the best side hustles for Millennials. There is a lot of money to be made on eBay. You have to figure out which type of items you like and go from there. Freelance Writing

If you are an excellent writer or have a keen eye for editing content, then you have a high prospect of making a lot of extra cash. The online world is focused on creating content, and you could get in on these jobs by searching for them online. There is an abundance of options from the likes of Craigslist and UpWork to specialized sites focusing on specific job opportunities.

If you’re great at designing websites, then you can find clients that desperately need these services. There are a variety of gigs out there, simply do some exploring and you are certain to find something that works for you.

Driving for Uber

The next side hustle idea is to drive for Uber. Uber’s good sides are: you drive your own vehicle; you make your own hours, you can drive for as long as you want, and take breaks at your leisure. It’s all on the company’s app. You could turn it on anytime you’re ready to drive, and you could turn it off when you’re not. The company has a few conditions for becoming a driver so you must meet their requirements before you apply.

You might decide to do a lot of odd jobs for different people. It could be working on a construction site today, and the following day you’re raking leaves somewhere.

You could do some searching online for a potpourri of random gigs or look for one of the many temp companies serving your area that can connect you with employers searching for temp workers to fill in at their offices. Once you’re in their databases, you might be hired for a couple of days or several weeks. You could also turn down work when you don’t need it and take jobs that come in when you have the time to get some extra income.

Teach Online Courses

Suppose you have sufficient knowledge in a specific field. In that case, you could offer online courses using existing channels and get paid for them. Although it will depend strongly on your area of expertise and the channel you utilize, you may provide additional materials to make the courses more attractive to potential customers. Furthermore, if you are active, energetic, and a more hands-on individual, you can leverage a platform like YouTube to create guides and DIY videos, workout routines, and other attention-grabbing activities.

Write and Sell eBooks

Next up on the list of side hustles to make money is a unique one. If you are a writer, you can usually sell ebooks and other materials in a downloadable format. Similar to online courses; however, these books must have the information and content that the potential readers will be willing to pay for.

Design Geeting Cards

If you are the crafty type with excellent drawing skills or just creative, you may consider designing digital or homemade greeting cards. You may specialize in designing and selling greeting cards for a special occasion, favorite holiday, and some relatives, either offline or online. Furthermore, even Millenials with no excellent drawing skills may write slogans, jingles, and other texts that may liven up a card or sticker.

  1. I haven’t had a good experience with eBay lately, but I’ve tried Amazon. Facebook Marketplace is a great place too, I’ve sold some of my son’s old toys and just listed a few games.

  2. Related to finding odd jobs, I would also add making your own odd jobs. If you live in a neighborhood with lots of kids, tutoring and babysitting are easy side hustles. If you have a learning personality, you might consider getting a certification in something you enjoy and then making money with that. I love Masala Bhangra, Indian dance exercise, and I got a certification to teach it and now substitute teach at the gym where I discovered it. It’s not going to replace a day job but it feels like found money b/c I would have taken the classes anyway.
