3rd quarter of 2019

The 3rd quarter of 2019 was a good one for me. I was able to bring in an extra $4138 on the side. That was basically double of what I did for the second quarter of 2019. The numbers are continuing to trend upwards. The 4th quarter update should be very good. In the meantime, let’s get back to this update. Here are the numbers.

EBay – $1744.93

No surprise here, eBay is number one again. This was my second highest quarter ever in eBay sales. I’m finding more and more items to sell at good prices. I’ve been trying to flip different items. Some have made money, while others have broken even.

Sponsored Posts – $815

Next on the list are sponsored posts. In the second quarter of 2019, I only made $145 in this category. I made almost 5 times that amount in the third quarter. This category will always be hit or miss. Some months I get tons of emails concerning sponsored opportunities, while other months, I get one or two. In most cases, I can tell after the first paragraph if I’m interested in working with a company. I’ll say that I probably decline 80% of the sponsored post or link opportunities that I’m offered. Most of them aren’t a good fit for the site.

Uber Eats/Door Dash – $792.89

Here’s a new category to this list. I started doing Door Dash and Uber Eats in August. Its easy money if you don’t mind picking up and dropping off food to different people. I have previous experience as a food delivery driver, so this side hustle has been going well for me. My goal is to make at least 50 bucks a week. Most weeks, I’ve been able to blow past that amount.

Other Selling Platforms – $397.95

Can you believe that I made almost $400 selling items on other platforms? Besides eBay, I sell on other sites such as Mercari, Poshmark and Facebook Marketplace. I’ve been able to grow this income stream by adding more items to each platform. If you sell items on eBay, I’d suggest you list items on other platforms as well.

Misc – $232.32

Fifth on the list is the miscellaneous category. It includes money that I made from affiliates, ebooks, Stubhub and more. Hopefully, some of these things in this session have their own category soon.

Ads – $129.38

Next on the list is ads. This has always been an up and down thing for my site. Some months are better than others. I’ve been using Azoic ads for most of my site. It’s better than AdSense in my opinion. I can see the add numbers slowly ticking up. Once I focus more on increasing my traffic, this number will go up even faster.

Merch By Amazon – $55.38

Last, but not least, we have Merch By Amazon. It is also new to the list. Just in case you don’t know what Merch is, let me explain. Merch by Amazon is a print on demand site owned, by Amazon. It similar to Teespring. You create a t-shirt design. If it’s approved, it is listed on Amazon. When you make a sale, you get a percentage of that amount. I like Merch a little bit better than Teespring, because your shirts are automatically added to the Amazon website. Amazon is the top online marketplace in the world. If you have a design that is popular or if you use the right keywords in the description, you have the potential to make a lot of money. The money that I’ve made from Merch has been done without any promotion. This is all search traffic cash. I’ve studied Facebook ads a lot for the last month. I’m going to start testing a few for some of these Merch shirts very soon.

I had a pretty good 3rd quarter of 2019. I’ve learned a lot and tried out a few things. The fourth quarter should be even better.

GoDaddy is one of the best places to locate and purchase a domain name. They are advertised as the world’s largest domain name website. I purchased a domain for another website that I had a couple of years ago for under $5. That’s a heck of a price. Head over here to see what domain deals are eligible.

Grammarly is a program that you can download to your computer that helps with grammar. I’ve been using Grammarly for two years, and I love it. It helps you with spelling, punctuation placement, and other grammar issues. As a blogger or writer, this tool is a must-have.

  1. I hadn’t heard of Merch for sale. It seems like a pretty easy idea to pursue, especially since you say you didn’t advertise the t-shirts. Do you have a detailed article about it?

    1. I don’t yet, but look for one coming out in the next few weeks.
