Hello everyone. The first quarter of 2019 has come and gone. It was an up and down quarter for me. I did pretty well bringing in an extra $2763 on the side. That’s $142 less than I made in the first quarter of 2018. At first, I was disappointed, but I remembered that it’s been taking a while for my site stats to get back to where they were before I rebranded. If you’re visiting my site for the 1st time, it used to be called The Butler Journal. I rebranded in January because it was time to take things to the next level. I’ll discuss more on how my stats affected my income later in this post. Let’s get into the numbers.
EBay – $1760.60
I’m doing very well with eBay right now. The crazy thing is that I’m still learning what sells and what doesn’t. This was my highest quarter ever for eBay sales. Compared to the first quarter of 2018, I made over $800 more. I love seeing the numbers grow. I plan on keeping that up by testing out more items and listing more.
If you’re interested in learning how to make money on eBay, check out my course titled, How to Make Money in Your Spare Time With eBay. The course has six modules geared to help you learn everything there is to know about eBay. I go over how to set up an account, things to sell and more. To purchase the course, go here.
Miscellaneous – $626.43
The miscellaneous section was 2nd in the first quarter of 2019. It includes affiliate income, course sales, cash back and more. I was hoping my affiliate income would have had its own section, but it didn’t this quarter. It has in previous income reports and it will again. Part of the reason that it didn’t have its own section was due to the rebrand. At the beginning of the rebrand, my blogs SEO was off. It took a couple of months to get the “link juice” going. The good thing is that my traffic is finally starting to increase again. I know that affiliate income will have its own section when it’s time to write the second quarter income report.

Ads – $141.71
Third on the list is ad revenue. It’s in the same place as it was last year, but the amount is significantly lower. Again, that was due to the rebrand. I also signed up for a new ad network in February. They are already better than Google AdSense. I expect the ad revenue to grow as well.
Sponsored Posts – $123.98
I get emails weekly from people or businesses that want me to put a sponsored post on the site. Can I tell you how many lowball offers I get? The answer is too many. I’ve only approved only a couple of sponsored posts this year. I’m being very selective about what I want on My Money Chronicles this year.
Other Platforms – $111.04
The final section on the list is other platforms. If you’ve been following my journey you know that while I love selling on eBay, I also have items on other platforms including Mercari, Poshmark, and Facebook Marketplace. If you sell online, you’re missing out if you don’t cross post your items.
The first quarter of 2019 started a little slower than I wanted, but it’s all good. The second quarter will be much better. I have a lot of things that I’m working on. Check out some of the resources that I used to help me make the extra money.
