December 2020 Debt & Life Update

We’ve reached the end of 2020. I know a lot of people are breathing a huge sigh of relief. I usually do my update post on the last Friday of the month, but with last Friday being Christmas, I decided not to do so. Most people weren’t online like that anyway. I figured today is a good day to post it.

December was a busy month that went by pretty quickly. I’m still getting used to my new job. Other than the pay, everything is going well. I’m currently still out for Christmas break which I’m taking advantage of. There’s no such thing as sleeping in. I’m getting work done.

Audit Update

I have 55 blog posts that still need some kind of update. I’ve been on a roll. Last month, I was at 113 posts. I wanted the audit to be finished by the end of December. It’s not going to happen. The good thing is that it will be done by January. Then, I’ll finally be able to focus on future content and business growth.

Resell Business

The resell business did excellent in December. I sold something on several platforms including eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Mercari. I plan on doing even better in 2021. People say this all the time, but the sky is the limit.

Below are 5 of my sales from this month

I paid $6.36 for this Coogi Style sweater. It sold for $36 on Mercari.

I paid $2.28 for this Little Tikes Basketball Hoop. I sold it on Facebook Marketplace for $35.

I picked up this Mall Madness board game for $1. I sold it on eBay for $47.99.

I found this Dale of Norway sweater for $6.50. It sold for $100 on Mercari.

I picked this Quasar VCR up for $8.50. I sold it on eBay for $38.99.

The Top Posts of 2020

My debt has gone from $53,858.05 to $52,899.36. That’s a drop of $958.69. December was another good debt reduction month for me.

Car Note ⬇️ from $2012.34 to $1457.70

Earnest ⬇️ from $20,603.71 to $20,499.66

Nelnet ⬇️ from $31,242 to $30,942

A few things happened in this update. I’m under the $2K with my car note. This is huge. It will be eliminated before the winter is over. I’m looking forward to putting more money on my student loans. Speaking of loans, my Earnest loan will be under $20K very soon.

I’m saving $28 per month on my private student loans and I received a lower interest rate when I refinanced with Earnest. Refinancing your student loans may help you as well.  If you’re approved for refinancing, you will also get a $200 bonus. Visit their site here today.

Overall, the numbers are getting lower. I’m looking forward to the day that I can post my debt is under $50K. It’s going to be sooner than later.
