Hello everyone. I hope that things are great for you. I know you have many plans to achieve this year, so let’s get at it together and make this year an awesome one for you and your finances. In the past, I’ve written many life-changing posts on my blog, and it’s incredible the number of testimonies I got. Let’s get to do it again this year. One of the most popular posts on My Money Chronicles was the one where I discussed how I raised my credit score by 168 points in just eight months. Have you read it yet? It seems like folks enjoyed it. I’m convinced that there are many people out there trying to get their credit in order. Monitoring one’s finances and having a good credit score might be difficult, but trust me, it can be done. Though it might not happen today or tomorrow, with hard work, you will get there. Today, I will review free seven credit report websites that you can check out. How can you expect to fix your credit if you don’t know what it is.

CREDIT SESAME

Credit Sesame is one of the best free credit report sites out there, which could give you your desired results. This is the first site where you can see your credit report for free. The company was founded in 2010. Credit Sesame is one of my favorite credit report websites. When you log into the dashboard, you can see your credit score, your credit & debt analysis, and more. Their site is very user-friendly. Credit Sesame is full of valuable information that will help you begin to get your credit in order. Credit Sesame leads you through those factors that will determine your credit score and explain what you need to understand about your credit history, which has a negative or positive effect on that score, and show you how to make it better. Feel free to check it out here.

CREDIT KARMA

Credit Karma was founded in 2007. It is another credit tool that I would suggest people use. It provides credit scores from Transunion and Equifax. They also have several credit tools to help you. One of those tools that Credit Karma offers is called the Credit Score Simulator. It simulates what would happen to your credit score if you made certain financial moves, such as requesting a higher credit limit. With Credit Karma, you will have the chance to build yourself a better and suitable financial life.

ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM

The next website is AnnualCreditReport.Com. This site gets straight to the point. You can check your credit report from Equifax, Experian, and Transunion once every 12 months with them. Their site doesn’t have offer recommendations or tools to help you get better credit like Credit Karma. The only thing that it offers is your three credit reports, which aren’t a bad thing. You need to know that this is the only website that allows you to access each of your credit reports from all three of the major credit bureaus Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, at no cost. To top it all, AnnualCreditReport.com is user friendly, and you can get your report via email or a PDF file.

MINT

Mint.com is another excellent site. It was founded in 2006. I signed up with Mint in the middle of 2014 when I decided to track my finances seriously. Besides showing you your credit score, Mint does so much more. You can add all of your accounts (debit cards, credit cards, student loans, etc.) to the Mint website. You can view all of your transactions.

Another thing is that you can create budgets and goals too. For a more detailed review about Mint, you can check this post I did here. Mint also has a great app that you can download. You can check your account info anytime with that.

NERDWALLET

This is also another credible credit report site. With Nerdwallet, you need to log in and create an account for yourself, a simple process. You can use your Google account if you have one, and you will only be asked to input the last four digits of your social security to create your account. You can as well make use of the Nerdwallet mobile app to quickly and easily monitor your credit report and other aspects of your finances when you’re on the go. To add to your free credit report, you will be granted access to check your VantageScore 3.0 based on your TransUnion credit report information. With Nerdwallet, your credit report details are refreshed weekly for you, so you are always up-to-date.

CREDIT WISE

This is also a good credit report site as you can check your Transunion credit report and score through it. Credit Wise also comes with a credit report and credit score tools from capitol one. The interesting fact about this site is that it’s for free, even for those who did not register with capitol one as customers. Credit Wise keeps you updated with any changes which occur to your credit report through your mail or push notifications about important credit events. Credit Wise also comes with a credit score simulator that tells you how certain actions could affect your credit scores. This will enable you to make some informed financial decisions on those actions.

QUIZZLE

Quizzle is the final site that I will discuss today. The company was founded in 2008. They provide you with a free credit report every six months. This site shows you credit card offers and recommendations. An example of a recommendation is credit cards and home loans.

PS: In 2019, Quizzle was shut down, and website visitors are now directed to the site of its former owner Bankrate.

In summary, the seven free credit report websites that you should check out if you want to improve your credit scores and get credible daily credit reports at their best are:

  • Credit Sesame
  • Credit Karma
  • Annual Credit Report
  • Mint
  • Nerdwallet
  • Credit Wise
  • Bankrate

If you don’t want to check all those sites out, I’d suggest starting with Credit Sesame or Mint.

  1. One other thing to note is that most credit cards now have free FICO scores within their dashboards. I typically use that option for tracking my credit score.

  2. Good information Jason. My bank also provides a free credit report on their Web site.

  3. Very useful post. Thanks. I tried mint, but did not go with it. Now just using a simple money tracking tool – coinkeeper

    1. How is coinkeeper working for you?

  4. This is great information Jason for several reasons. Now with the threat of identify theft it’s important to know what ‘s happening in your credit world so you can nip things in the bud when you first see questionable activity. The other thing is that is you know your credit score you can see it go up by paying off certain bills first, etc. the more you see it go up, the more it motivates you to keep trying.

    1. It definitely motivates me to keep going.
