October 2017 Debt & Life Update

October 2017 Debt & Life Update

Happy Halloween everyone. I hope you all had a great month. October is always one of the busiest months of the year for me. This year it was no different. A lot of things happened this month. My girlfriend surprised me with a trip to New Orleans for my birthday. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the country. We went to Bourbon Street, a Jazz Festival and ate well during that weekend. We also got beignets from Cafe Du Monde.

FinCon also happened last week. All I can say is that this was the best FinCon yet! I got back from Dallas, Texas two days ago and I’m still trying to get my energy back. I’m not sure if I will dedicate a post to FinCon this year, but I want to share with you this article on how my life changed after my first FinCon.

If I didn’t start blogging back in 2013, I would have never found out about FinCon.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog, the time is now.  Check out my step by step guide on creating a website with Bluehost. Now, it’s time for my monthly debt update. I started my debt repayment in 2015. I’m not going to lie; it’s been an up and down journey. Since my last update, my debt went from $61,387.40 to $60,998.02. That’s a decrease of $389.40. That’s twenty cents cheaper than last month’s update. It’s all good, the next update will be much better. I don’t plan on doing any traveling in November.

Loan 2 – Down from $3240 to $2940

Navient – Down from $23,344.33 to $23,257.10

Nelnet – Down from $34,803.17 to $34,800.92

The good thing is that the numbers are going down. I will be under $60,000 worth of debt soon. Loan 2 is under $3000. That’s a big deal to me. I will be happy when it’s at $0.
